THERE ARE TWO types of people in the world: The people who wash their legs, and the people who do not. So, which one are you?
It all started on the American TV show You’re The Worst, when one of the characters is disgusted to find out that his girlfriend Gretchen doesn’t actively wash her legs in the shower.
Jezebel writer Madeleine Davies expanded on the joke for the website, admitting that she thought the same thing:
I’ve existed through life with Gretchen’s logic: Water falls on your legs while you shower so why bother getting down there with soap? My legs don’t look dirty, the water that spills on them doesn’t come off dirty, so my guess is that scrubbing them – unless you’re splattered in mud or something – is nothing but a waste of time and flexibility.
Davies’ confession kicked off a flood of similar admissions from fellow non-leg washers:
And also a wave of bemusement from the leg washers, who thought for all this time that everyone washed their legs:
Jezebel’s poll on the subject was startlingly close, with 54% saying they did wash their legs, and 46% saying they didn’t bother. Pack of animals!
We refuse to believe that so many people ignore their lower half in the shower, so we’re asking you: Do you wash your legs?
