Meet the dog who sniffed out his owner's cancer and made the internet weep

IF YOU’RE A dog lover you may be familiar with Max, and if you’re never heard of him you’re going to fall in love with him in 0.5 seconds.

There’s far more to this little Collie cross than meets the eye: He’s credited with sniffing out his owner’s cancer and saving her life in the process.

Maureen says she had no idea she was ill until Max started behaving oddly and believes she wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for him.

Max was one of the star’s of BBC One’s The Secret Life of Dogs but his segment of the show was only uploaded to YouTube by BBC Earth in January.

It sat silently on the internet until this week, when someone came across it and it suddenly began to spread life wildfire.

When you’ve finished drying your eyes we’re sure you’ll understand why.
