Three Irish lads are driving from Nenagh to Beijing for their friend's wedding

They’re doing it all for charity, because they’re great sports.

THREE IRISH LADS are attempting a massive journey around the world by car, all to get to their best friend’s wedding.

James Costello, Brian Gleeson and Willie Gleeson are from Nenagh, Co Tipperary – two of them are groomsmen at their childhood friend Alan’s wedding in Beijing in September.

Not content with just hopping on a plane, the trio has decided to drive all the way from Nenagh to the Chinese capital – a grand total of 13,000km.

Allow them to explain their plan:

So the plan is to leave eight weeks before the wedding and start driving across the continent of Europe, down through Turkey and across Iran, all through the ‘Stans, Mongolia, then Beijing, China. Please god we’ll all get there in one piece.

Here’s their chosen route all laid out, so you can see just how insanely long it really is:

It’s not just a bit of craic, though – they’re hoping to raise funds for the Laura Lynn Foundation, which provides palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions.

For more information and to donate, check out their website and Facebook page. Good luck, you crazy kids.
