Emily Atack was told she was 'no longer needed' a day before filming The Inbetweeners' reunion

Well, this is awkward.

APPARENTLY, IT’S JUST part and parcel of life as an actor, but it’s got to come as some blow when you’re given the boot a day before filming is due to start, right?

Well, not if you’re Emily Atack, who takes the entire thing in her stride.

While appearing on Capital FM this week, the actress, who came second in this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, revealed that she had been told she was ‘no longer needed’ for the upcoming Inbetweeners’ reunion show.

Emily, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe, admitted she was disappointed, but acknowledged that it was just par for the course in the industry.

Unfortunately, I don’t really know what happened there. I was booked to do it, was very much looking forward to doing it and then the day before I was told I was no longer needed for it.

Sounding very pragmatic about it, she continued: “It’s alright; these things do happen and I think they just decided to go a different route with it, I don’t know, or it was to do with production timings and things.”

29-year-old Emily, who played Charlotte between 2008 and 2010, was reluctant to be drawn out too much on the details of the exchange, saying: “It was all very professional and it’s just business. It happens all the time.”

I’ll always support them. That programme was an incredible part of my life and always will be.

“I wish them all the best and I know it’s going to be great and the fans won’t be disappointed,” she added.

The one-off special will air on  January 1 at 9pm on Channel 4.
