Fanta Rock Shandy is a thing that exists now, and Irish people are having none of it

ROCK SHANDY IS a staple of the Irish diet.

And as every Irish person knows, there are two types of rock shandy in this world: Club and Finches.

Until now, that is.

Yes, Fanta have officially entered the rock shandy game.

Billed as a “sparkling lemon orange flavour soft drink with sugar and sweetener,” the drink appears to have been launched in Ireland earlier this summer.

Judging by these tweets, however, it hasn’t really won over the Irish market.

The reason for this might lie in the ingredients…

“Carrot, pumpkin and blackcurrant.”

Eh, pardon?

A quick Google search reveals that neither Club Orange nor Finches use carrot, pumpkin or blackcurrant in their recipes, so we’re not quite sure why it’s in Fanta Rock Shandy.

So, how does the pumpkin-infused Fanta Rock Shandy taste?

We at DailyEdge.ie picked up a bottle this morning and we were sadly underwhelmed by it.

It tastes like Berocca.
Yeah, it tastes like one of those Vitamin C drinks.
It doesn’t taste like rock shandy anyway.

Is the pumpkin letting it down?

It’s not helping it anyway.

We’ll stick to Club for now.
