Hacked? Sony Music Ireland website claims members of The Script have died

The site is now inaccessible after three unsavoury stories appeared overnight…

A FEW UNSAVOURY posts that appeared on the website of Sony Music Ireland earlier may indicate that the site has been hacked.

The three stories claimed that two members of Dublin band The Script had taken their own lives following their recent gig at the Aviva Stadium, that scientists have proven that the X-Factor is for the stupid and that Friday singer Rebecca Black has married R. Kelly.

The X-Factor post advises people who watch it that doing so “decreases your Intelligence Quote (sic)” and urges them to better themselves instead of watching “untalented and mediocre karaoke singers”.

The site also claimed that R.Kelly had married YouTube sensation Rebecca Black and signed for Sony’s security team. A representative for Sony’s digital media team was not available for comment this morning.

The Sony Music Ireland site now points directly to the Facebook page, so it’s assumed that the stories are now being removed…not quite quickly enough though:
