THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED new stage story featuring the characters of Harry Potter will hit the West End in London in the summer of 2016.
And late last night, the production revealed its cast to play Harry, Hermione and Ron – with the new story seeing them as adult versions of the iconic characters:
The story, co-written by JK Rowling, shows us a new side to life for the trio:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
And the casting of Noma Dumezweni as Hermione is being hailed by many as a triumph
It’s an important, positive move
A new Hermione Granger for a new generation
People have already been picturing this version of Hermione in the role
But some people weren’t too happy with the casting choices, and were put in their place fairly swiftly
Reminding everyone that Hermione does not equal Emma Watson
And how this whole controversy should never have happened
JK Rowling has had her say this morning
*applause*
