Beauty Q: How often do you use dry shampoo?

Is it strictly for emergencies? Or a part of your routine?

WE ALL KNOW that dry shampoo can be an absolute life saver.

Some nights you go to bed thinking, “Ah, I’ll definitely get another day out of my hair”, only to wake up looking like Samira from The Ring if she had done a spinning class in her sleep. You’d never, ever be able to walk around to the shops like that, never mind go into work. Then, dry shampoo saves the day, adds a bit of volume to your hair and, somehow, it looks better than it did when it was actually clean.

As well as saving those of us who find ourselves feeling too lazy to wash our hair, it also offers some relief to those who are guilty of washing their hair too much, allowing them a more substantial break between washes.

Of course, not everyone is a fan of dry shampoo. You might remember back in 2016 when a Facebook user’s post about dry shampoo went viral, because she shared her horror story about suffering with hair loss from using the product. That certainly made people a lot more cautious about how often they use dry shampoo, and there were plenty of dermatologists warning of the risks of over-using dry shampoo. Most of these experts concluded that dry shampoo is fine, once you don’t use it for more than two days in a row and without speaking to your doctor first if you suffer with eczema or psoriasis.
