How to use 'literally' in the correct way, as shown by a six-year-old

She’s literally brilliant.

PEOPLE LOVE USING the word literally in sentences but, as any self-confessed Grammar Garda will tell you, they rarely use it properly.

They’ll tell you how they LITERALLY cried their eyes out. Or LITERALLY couldn’t breathe, when they could in fact fill their lungs.

They could definitely learn a thing or two from this six-year-old, whose letter to the Tooth Fairy was uploaded to Reddit and Imgur by a rather amused family member.

The youngster may be still learning how to spell properly, but she’s LITERALLY better than most adults when it comes to using that word already.
