The ‘Luther’ actor is having a lot of fun on social media entertaining those rumours that he’s lined up to be the next James Bond.
The star posted a selfie (which looks like it could’ve been taken on a noughties Motorola phone), under the words “my name’s Elba, Idris Elba,” echoing the spy’s famous catchphrase.
Seriously, what filter is that?
He’s adding fuel to a fire started by American film producer Antoine Fuqua, who told the Daily Star that Bond producer Barbara Broccoli had said “it is time” for a non-white actor to play agent 007. (He’s since denied said conversation ever took place.)
Before anyone gets too excited, Elba posted another tweet a few hours later saying, “Don’t believe the HYPE …”
