Just Cats Veterinary Hospital, as you may have guessed, deals with just cats – and claims to specialise in calming stressed felines before they go in for their procedures:

Your cat will feel at ease with our staff, who handle patients with empathy and compassion and allow your cat to acclimatise to the new environment.

To that end, they’re looking for a full-time ‘cat cuddler’ to expertly soothe their patients. Yes. ‘Cat cuddler’ is the job title.

The hospital is currently advertising the position on their website, asking for candidates who have “gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time”.

They need to be softly spoken and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our inpatients. An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct advantage in helping you secure this position with us.

A love of cats is obviously essential, but you will also need a Veterinary Council of Ireland-recognised qualification to take up the role.

Does this sound like you? If so, you can apply here. We’re off to re-train as a vet nurse, TBH.
