LAST APRIL, MTV aired the first ever episode of a new TV show called ‘Just Tattoo Of Us’.
The idea of the show is that two people (usually friends, family or a couple) go to a tattoo parlour and design tattoos for each other. They each get a tattoo designed by their loved ones, but the problem is, there’s no limit to what can be tattooed. At all. So it almost always ends in tears.
The person getting tattooed doesn’t get to see that design that their friend/relative/partner chose for them until a big reveal at the end. It’s so stressful, but it’s hard to stop watching it.
This show sounds like it was conceptualised by someone on holidays who had approximately four cans. Somehow it has managed to go into production and it has had two series made already.
They’ve even announced a third series. Seriously, who in their right mind is volunteering to take part in this show? Here are some of the designs that sum up what people are getting themselves into by taking part in this show.
1. When Hughie Maughan’s arse was branded with his boyfriend Ryan Ruckledge’s face and name.
Hughie’s reaction?
I’m sorry. What have you just done to me? I told you not to put any f**king thing like that… You put your face on my arse! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? That’s taking the piss. That’s going above and beyond… You’ve just scarred me. I should get you arrested. You don’t own me. Don’t touch me.
What a healthy relationship. Ryan tries to justify it by saying that he thought him and Hughie were at the stage in their relationship where they’d be considering marriage.
Eh… Probably not anymore.
2. After Hughie’s tantrum, we learn that the tattoo he chose for Ryan was actually considerably worse than having someone’s face or name on your arse…
“The cheek of you to be upset!” Hughie says as the hosts pull down Ryan’s jocks to reveal his new tattoo. “This is probably the quickest karma has ever worked” The Irish Big Brother star added.
Then there’s the big reveal. Silence.
Ryan looks set to kill somebody. When we see his tattoo, it’s very easy to understand why.
With his arse still hanging out of his jeans, be begins to punch the mirrors and scream at Hughie.
When Hughie gave the extremely gross background story about this tattoo, Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby said “I think it’s sooo romantic.”
3. When we got to see the world’s worst friend. Ever.
A lad called PJ decided to go on this show with his friend Harrison. It immediately became very clear that Harrison has absolutely no sense of foresight whatsoever. Here are the tattoos he chose for his friend PJ.
Yes. That says ‘the clap!!’. Harrison thought it’d be pure gas to get the names of STIs tattooed onto his best friend’s crotch and surrounding area.
Understandably, PJ begins to cry and asks “Mate, what the f**k have you done? Is that how little our friendship means?”
Charlotte did not think this one was romantic. As PJ walked backstage to try and take this in, she almost began to cry herself. Meanwhile, Harrison is – somehow – completely surprised by his best friend’s reaction.
Co-host Stephen Bear asks “So, you’re happy with the result today?” To which Harrison replies “I’m not happy with how he’s feeling.” What did this man honestly expect?
Harrison then tried to justify it backstage by saying that it was revenge for PJ leaving him on a night out to go home with a girl.
4. When one young woman ended up with a huge tattoo of a tampon on the inside of her leg.
At least this one didn’t break up a friendship. Charlotte and Stephen agreed that this was the worst tattoo they’d seen (they had yet to see the STD one at this stage), but Alicia who designed the tattoo and her best friend Louise ended their segment on Just Tattoo Of Us with a hug.
This is what a real friendship looks like.
5. Even the very first tattoo that was done on this show was unbelievable.
Cousins Sophie and Lauren decided to go on this show together. Lauren broke down into tears when she saw that tattoo that her cousin Sophie chose for her.
But why? Why would she cry when the tattoo she chose for Sophie was infinitely worse?
It’s probably safe to say that these two ladies are not talking to each other anymore.
6. Another woman ended up with a tattoo of her cat attached to her via umbilical cord.
This ended better than any other tattoo. The woman who owned this leg was delighted to have a tattoo of her cat, even if it does look like it’s pulling out her tampon.
7. Then of course, there was the guy who got a tattoo of Donald Trump on his arse.
He wasn’t even a bit bothered.
This guy’s reaction to his new tattoo was “Donald Trump? That’s hilarious. USA! USA! God bless America.” Corey then explained “I don’t love Donald Trump, but I think he’s a hero. He’s so funny.”
