This Belfast baker's life-size Katniss Everdeen cake is going viral

Jennifer Lawrence is a fan.

A GIANT JENNIFER Lawrence-shaped cake baked by a Belfast baker is going viral after claiming top prize at a cake competition last week.

Lara Clarke, who originally hails from Belfast and is now based in Walsall, won top prize at Cake International last week for her Hunger Games-inspired cake.

It’s pretty impressive.

The ingredients for the 5’11 cake?

Oh, just 150 eggs, 10kg (22lb) flour and 10kg butter. Clarke, who is self-taught, said that the cake took 170 hours to build.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect for Clarke’s cake, what with the forthcoming release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. It has been picked up by the likes of Time, Fox News and New York Magazine.

Jennifer Lawrence herself expressed her approval when shown a picture of the cake while chatting with BBC Radio 1′s Nick Grimshaw today.

And, of course, Clarke was particularly excited about that.
