A leg of lamb was the big prize on the Late Late last night, and this guy was DELIGHTED

And it Good Friday and all! Shocking.

LAST NIGHT, approximately half the country was giving out about the Late Late Country Special, and the other half was loving it.

The show opened with all the stars of Irish country singing Country Roads, and it’s a joy to behold if you grew up listening to regional radio stations:

Later on in the show there were performances from Daniel O’Donnell, Nathan Carter, and country legend Charley Pride – but the real star of the show was someone (and something) rather unexpected.

The Late Late has been giving away some interesting things as of late, but last night every member of the audience got… a leg of lamb. Even Ryan was a bit bemused.

It’s a good looking leg of lamb, to be fair?

You might have thought they’d be a bit disappointed with the loot, but no. This man was absolutely made up:

Look at him! He’s always dreamed of winning a leg of lamb on the Late Late Show and here he is.

But that’s not all – earlier on in the programme, the audience were given a chocolate hamper. He was extremely enthused about that, too.

We could all do with his outlook on life. Chocolate, a nice leg of lamb… What more could you need?

Important update: The man in question has been in touch, his name is PJ, and he really, really loves his leg of lamb.
