People are having serious craic with the title of Liam Neeson's new film 'The Commuter'

Taken: THE TRAIN.

OVER THE PAST decade or so, Liam Neeson has almost become typecast in stereotypical action roles that began with Taken in 2008.

He followed it up with two more turns in that trilogy, Non-Stop, Run All Night and Unknown to name a few.

A couple of months ago he even said that he was done with action movies:

They’re still throwing serious money at me to do that stuff
I’m like: ‘Guys I’m sixty-f******-five.’ Audiences are eventually going to go: ‘Come on.’

Fair.

But yesterday Empire Magazine shared an exclusive poster from his new film… and it all looked very familiar

‘The Commuter’ sounds like it came out of a Liam Neeson Random Movie Generator

The IMDb basic plot summary reads:

A businessman is caught up in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute home.

No surprises there.

People were wondering what’s next

This is now a legit genre moving forward

There’s just something delightfully mundane about ‘The Commuter’ though

Why didn’t they just call it what it is?

What a tagline though

Poor Liam Neeson just needs to have a few duvet days at this stage of the game

The Commuter is out in January – and the trailer is everything you’d expect

If you are looking for a train ticket I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have is a very particular set of excuses. Excuses I have acquired over a very long commute. Excuses that make me a nightmare for people like you, the conductor.
