Have you forgotten how brilliant Ant and Dec are?

Let us remind you.

ANT AND DEC have hit the papers today because of a prank they pulled on One Direction for this weekend’s Saturday Night Takeaway which ended up with emergency services being called.

According to the Mirror, Dec convinced the lads that he was a fan having an asthma attack, and they were so worried they called the paramedics.

Ant and Dec are no strangers to pulling pranks, and this one has us thinking about how brilliant they are…

Let’s start with Byker Grove

They met as actors on children’s drama Byker Grove and soon became best mates.

Serious drama!

After becoming a duo on and offscreen via Byker Grove, they decided a career in pop was the way to go.  Initially they used their Byker Grove character names and were nominated for a Brit for Let’s Get Ready to Rumble.

We can see why – what a cracker!

While still releasing music as PJ and Duncan, And and Dec got a few gigs presenting children’s television programmes, but they really came into their own on SM:TV.

They, along with Cat Deeley, inroduced shows, interviewed guests, played games and acted out sketches.  Mostly, they just had a laugh.

Technically, it was for kids, but manys a teenager and adult got up early to watch it because of features like Wonkey Donkey…

…and Chums, their version of Friends.

Pop Idol

After SMTV, Ant and Dec presented Pop Idol, the programme which spawned American Idol and X Factor.

As you’ll see here, there was actually a bit of craic in shows like that back then.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway

These days, when they’re not in the jungle, they’re still dressing up and messing around on their Saturday night show.

Whether they’re making celebs look stupid…

…or doing Riverdance.

We have to say Dec is the better Irish dancer, Ant’s arms are all over the place.

Bonus fact

Ant is married but apparently Dec is having a romance with former Pussycat Doll, Ashley Roberts.  OOoooooooh.
