Man tried to smuggle hummingbirds on plane... in his pants

The man was caught at an airport in French Guiana with hummingbirds wrapped in cloth and put in pouches sewn inside his pants.

IF YOU THOUGHT that air travel could be uncomfortable, spare a thought for the tiny hummingbirds who were sewed into a flyer’s pants recently.

According to AOL, the man was stopped at Rochambeau airport in Cayenne, French Guiana, after airport staff noticed him acting suspiciously.

He was found to have more than a dozen live birds in pouches inside his pants.

Smugglers have been known to try and hide animals on their person in bizarre ways.

Last month, a man was found in Miami with bags of exotic snakes down his pants – as well as three tortoises.

In 2007, another man was found to have a boa constrictor in his shoe at an American airport.
