Matthew Lewis has actually been reunited with the wallet that contained a love letter

Yes to this.

WELL LOOK, IT would bring a tear to a glass eye.

Earlier this week, Matthew Lewis, best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter franchise, made an appeal on Twitter after he and his wallet became separated in East London.

In the post, he pleaded with whoever was now in possession of it to make use of the address on his driving license and return the small piece of metal engraved with a love note from his wife.

Of the wallet and its other contents, he simply wrote: “Keep it, have the money, the cards, the lot.”

And after three days, 7,000 retweets and 24,000 likes, the wallet is back in Matthew’s hands.

Earlier today, the 29-year-old actor posted a poignant message on Twitter, thanking everyone involved with ensuring its safe return.

I did not expect that to happen. I owe you all a debt of gratitude and can’t thank you all enough. You’re amazing. This is a good day.

Matthew’s Twitter followers were quick to point out that – every now and again – the power of social media can be harnessed in positive ways.
