LOOKING FOR SOMETHING to cheer you up today? Well, here it is.
Destiny Carreno from Chicago popped in to McDonald’s after work last week. As she was queuing to order, she noticed an elderly man in a wheelchair at the till in front of her, asking the cashier for help.
“It took him a few tries before either of us could understand he was saying ‘Help me please’,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Neither of us knew what help he needed… [The cashier] figured out the gentleman needed help cutting and eating his meal.”
To be honest, I thought the cashier wasn’t going to help, especially during rush hour in downtown Chicago, but to my shock he shut down his register and disappeared from view… to wash his hands and put gloves on!
The cashier came out of the kitchen, sat down, and began cutting the man’s meat and helping him eat.
The cashier’s kindness moved Carreno, who has an uncle with a similar condition. She posted a picture to Facebook, where it’s been shared over 283,000 times and basically making everybody cry:
Hats off to the McDonald’s man.
