IT SEEMS LIKE only yesterday that Wes pie’d Laura in favour of Megan in last year’s Love Island. Ah, romantic times.
But now the fairytale which started with the public humiliation of another woman has come to an official end.
To be fair, it was looking rocky when Megan went off on one at Wes’s Dancing on Ice partner, Vanessa Bauer, in recent weeks, but sure look, maybe that’s got nothing to do with it…Ahem.
In an Instagram story uploaded in the last hour, Megan announced that she and Wes have decided to separate, and would be much obliged if the public could respect their’s and their hamster’s privacy at this difficult time.
“It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” Megan began.
We have been working hard for well under a year, some of it together, some of it separated to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much, we will remain separate.
“We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been,” Megan continued.
And then comes the kicker.
We are parents, first and foremost, to one incredibly wonderful hamster, and we ask for his and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
“We haven’t really conducted our relationship that privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”
Riiiight. You want an exceptionally public break-up too?
In all seriousness, I am so grateful and so blessed to have found Wes. I will always love and adore him and I am so lucky to call him my best friend.
“It has been an incredibly hard decision for both of us to make, but we are both looking forward to moving on together as friends and supporting each other in everything we do,” she added.
That’s all well and good but will Megan be cheering Wes on in tomorrow night’s episode of Dancing on Ice?
