RTÉ HAVE RELEASED a preview of this week’s Late Late Show interview with Mel Gibson, Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.
A toxic, not-at-all benign film made for the enjoyment of everyone still oblivious to the fact that this kind of worldview is crashing down in flames even as we speak.
Anyway, Tubridy somehow managed to ask Ferrell, Gibson and Wahlberg for their take on the whole Weinstein scandal. Directing the question to Mel Gibson specifically, Ryan asked “Where are you on the whole situation? It’s a big one”, to which Mel replied:
Source: The Late Late Show/YouTubeWell, y’know your heart goes out to the victims. I’m glad that they spoke up. I think it’s unfortunate that they have to relive the whole thing in order to heal themselves. The rest of us are subjected to the problem, I think we really need to look at it. It’s not just Hollywood. You don’t have to be in Hollywood to experience that kind of harassment.
Focus has been on Gibson’s return to family comedy roles given the actor pleaded no contest to battery charges against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva back in 2011 – as well as his infamous arrest in 2006 where he was alleged to have spouted anti-Semitic remarks to the police officer.
Given the current Hollywood controversies surrounding Harvey Weinstein and others, his reemergence has led The Daily Beast to ask: What the Hell Is Mel Gibson Doing in the Family Comedy ‘Daddy’s Home 2?
