MERYL STREEP AND CHER: The crime-fighting duo we never knew we needed.
Meryl and Cher (Cheryl?) once saved a woman from a mugger in New York City, according to a speech Streep made earlier this week.
Speaking at a Committee To Protect Journalists event, Meryl recounted two incidents in which she had to defend herself or someone else from physical violence.
She mentioned a time she ‘went completely nuts’ at a mugger, then revealed that Cher was there too:
I just went completely nuts and went after this man. Ask Cher – she was there. And the thug ran away, it was a miracle.
This isn’t the first time either of them has mentioned the incident – Cher included it in a 2013 ’25 Things You Don’t Know About Me’ piece for Us Weekly magazine.
