FOR SOME REASON, Irish people are completely enamoured with Michael Bublé. Is it his voice? Is it his charm? Is it because he has a fada on his name? Who knows.
Either way, mams across the country were snatching remotes off of family members last night to tune in and see what the 43-year-old singer was up to when he appeared on The Late Late Show. Chances are, they were extremely envious when they saw that he helped a man called David O’Regan propose to his girlfriend, Ashley Kiely.
Whatever you think of public proposals, at least in this case it wasn’t an act of complete attention seeking from the person popping the question, because Ashley achieved one of her biggest dreams last night, and that was getting within three feet of Michael Bublé. On top of that, she got to upstage her cousin who was proposed to at the Great Wall of China, which she was only delighted about.
It all kicked off when Michael told Ryan, “I have a serious issue with a person in your audience today, and I’m living in the moment, I’m not going there… But there’s a guy that I see actually, his name is David O’Regan and he is literally…” At this point Ryan Tubridy asked, “Do you wanna go over and say hello?” Because both Michael and Ashley looked ridiculously nervous.

David said, “You just be careful because she said if you get within three feet of her she’s going to jump on top of you.” Ashley, who was overcome by nerves, replied, “I actually can’t move so I’m not going to.”
Needless to say, she said yes. Michael dedicated the song he was performing to the pair of them and told her, “God, you’re so out of his league, but it’s okay!”
