POLICE IN THE UK are on the hunt for an unusual suspect – a man who slaps people for sneezing.
For the past month, a man has been going around the town of Carlisle, assaulting people who have dared to sneeze on the street.
According to the Daily Mail, police have received five reports of slappings in the area, and have released CCTV footage in the hopes of catching the mystery man.
Local policeman Mike Watson said:
This is certainly a unique type of incident and one that is being treated seriously by ourselves. The offender is assaulting innocent members of the public and that sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
The man, who is believed to be in his 50s, appears to be targeting older people – the victims range in age from 65 to 82.
A shop assistant working in the area managed to sum the whole thing up beautifully, saying:
When you think about it, it is really awful because anyone can sneeze at any time and it’s not your fault.
