Olivia Colman's Academy Award win has Twitter ridiculously nostalgic about Peep Show

‘What a brilliant speech!’

LONG BEFORE SHE was giving an Oscar acceptance speech which will likely go down as one of the most joyful in Academy Award history, Olivia Colman was famed for playing Sophie Chapman in Peep Show.

And following her win for her role in The Favourite at last night’s Academy Awards, her former Peep Show co-stars Robert Webb and David Mitchell were keen to share in Olivia’s delight.

The actors, who worked alongside Olivia for more than a decade, sent messages of congratulations on Twitter.

Oh my God! That’s amazing! And what a brilliant speech! #OliviaColman

WHOOP! Congratulations to the brilliant & glorious #OliviaColman.

Naturally, this sent some Peep Show fans into overdrive, with many getting particularly nostalgic over the life and times of Sophie, Jez and Mark.

So obviously, it wasn’t long before references to the Channel 4 show started flooding newsfeeds, and we’re going to let die-hard fans take it from here.
