DOZENS OF ONE Direction fans have received medical attention after a rush to the stage.

Local police in Lima said that when the doors to the Estadio Nacional stadium opened  fans scrambled to get as close to the stage as possible, with the crush intensifying after the band came on stage.

Sky News reports that Niall Horan appealed to fans telling them:

If you don’t want anyone to take us off stage, make sure you stay back.

Forty seven people were treated for asphyxia in medical tents at the stadium after fans were evacuated from the stage and balcony areas.

Harry Styles was seen throwing a bottle of water to fans closest to the stage as bandmate Liam Payne appealed for calm:

You need to push back, it’s getting dangerous.

Prior to the gig thousands of fans showed up outside the band’s hotel.
