Pedal pushers (remember them?) are apparently the must-have fashion item for summer 2017

NO. NOT AGAIN.

CAST YOUR MIND back to say, summer 2004. What are you wearing? A spaghetti strap top, a halter neck maybe – and definitely, definitely pedal pushers.

Here’s Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas wearing them to a red carpet event in 2004:

Pedal pushers have maintained popularity with mams going on holidays, but it’s been a while since they were considered ‘fashionable’. However, a quick look at the Spring/Summer catwalks says their time has come again.

Samantha Sutton of PopSugar was the first to notice this alarming trend, heralding the return of ‘capri pants’ – as she says, they’re not just ‘cropped’, not ‘culottes’, just straight up pedal pushers.

According to Cosmopolitan, pedal pushers were spotted at Chanel and Philip Plein’s Spring-Summer 2017 shows – but here they are too at Dior:

Jennifer Lawrence wore a denim version to the Dior show, too.

And kitten heels? Jennifer! ARGH.

There’s one thing we do like about this trend – you don’t have to bother shaving past the knee. The only thing.
