Galway and Cork fans are already queuing up for Ed Sheeran tickets

Kilkenny fans will have to wait.

NEVER LET IT be said that Ed Sheeran fans are not dedicated. Tickets go on sale for his seven concert dates next year tomorrow (Saturday 8th of July) but fans have been queuing from as early as 4pm on Thursday the 6th of July.

A man named Daithi was one of the first people to nice the queue forming at Merchants Quay in Cork and had no idea what it was for until his daughter informed him. He took to Twitter to share his disbelief.

In fairness, it’s slightly unbelievable that people are willing to queue two nights for this.

He then shared a photograph of the queue, happily sitting on deck chairs looking at their phones. Hopefully they brought power banks, because they’re going to be there for a while.

The Irish Independent reported that eleven fans had set up base on Merchant’s Quay and were taking turns going on toilet breaks and getting food. Red FM have been sending them food to help them during their wait.

The scenes in Galway are similar.

The shop OMG @ Zhivago in Galway shared a photo to their Twitter at 11:20pm of girls queuing for Ed Sheeran tickets, with a warning for them to be safe and get plenty of sleep.

The queue has since grown by a few more fans and some bags of rubbish.

Kilkenny aren’t having a bar of it though.

Clearly something very bad occurred outside of Rollercoaster Records on Kieran Street in Kilkenny the last time that Ed Sheeran tickets went on sale. They have put this in their window as a warning to anybody considering queuing for Ed Sheeran tickets.

The sign in their window reads:

Due to the disgraceful behaviour by some individuals, the disruption to surrounding businesses and the disgusting state that Kieran Street was left in after the queue for the last Ed Sheeran concerts, we are not allowing any queue to form until after 6pm on Friday 7th of July.

If anyone attempts to start a queue before this time or there are any reports of antisocial behaviour between 6pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday, we will refuse to sell any tickets and everyone can try their luck online. – Rollercoaster

Jeez, they aren’t messing around. Makes you wonder what all of these seemingly innocent Ed Sheeran fans are capable of.
