Jessica vs Ruby

Here's why an Instagram exchange between Ruby Rose and her ex-girlfriend is making headlines

‘You continue to ignore this.’

IN APRIL OF this year, actress, Ruby Rose, and The Veronicas singer, Jessica Origliasso, brought their two-year relationship to an end.

The split sounded particularly amicable, with 32-year-old Ruby paying tribute to her former girlfriend on Twitter in the aftermath of their break-up.

“I’ve shared the past two years learning and sharing my life with an amazing human being. An experience for which I am very blessed,” the actress told her followers at the time.

Breakups are always incredibly hard on the people involved but I can only be grateful for the experiences we shared. It’s with a heavy heart to share that Jess and I parted ways a few months ago. We still love each other very much and I will always support her and be her biggest advocate.

However, it doesn’t sound like 33-year-old Jessica is on the same page at all, after accusing Ruby of harassment in a barbed post on Instagram earlier this week.

After sharing a photo of herself with her new girlfriend Kai Carlton, Jessica lashed out at a comment Ruby wrote, which supported her and her current partner.

“Congratulations! So happy for you both!” Ruby wrote beneath Jessica’s post, but apparently that crossed a line as far as Jessica was concerned.

In a response which sent Jessica’s comment section into overdrive, she responded: “@Rubyrose, I have requested you not contact me for over 4 months now.”

You have been given my grace of being ignored on every other private platform, so the fact you continue to ignore this to contact me here publicly under the guise of wishing me well, is continued harassment.

Apparently, Ruby Rose was stunned to hear that her well wishes verged on harassment and told her ex-girlfriend as much in an Instagram response.

That is news to me. Copy that. Good vibes only.

Interestingly, many of Jessica’s followers sided with Ruby Rose, telling the singer that her response was unnecessarily harsh.

jessicaveronica, I think her comment was kindhearted and came from a good place. If you felt so strongly about her not contacting you it’s called “ BLOCK”. Don’t publicly lash out at her. It’s sad. I wish you both love and respect.
This public message is harassment and shaming. #pot #kettle #black.
@rubyrose idk why you even thought about congratulating her, she’s a bad person.
@jessicaveronica, well that was kinda rude. Just block and delete if you have an issue of her contacting you.

But it doesn’t stop there.

According to The Daily Mail, Jessica alluded to the tense exchange on her Instagram story in the hours that followed, sharing a quote which read:

Entitlement is an expression of conditional love. Nobody is ever entitled to your love. You always have a right to protect your mental, emotional, and physical well-being by removing yourself from toxic people and circumstances.

Copy that.
