THIS WEEK’S SATURDAY Night Live is going to be an unusually Irish affair, with Saoirse Ronan hosting and U2 providing the music.
The Lady Bird actress seems to be pretty pumped about getting to host the show, and has been hard at work in 30 Rock over the past few days.
Saoirse and castmember Cecily Strong did a little promo sketch for her hosting gig yesterday, and it’s no surprise that she’s a natural:
She’ll have no problem with those comedy sketches, which is no mean feat. (Many hosts have stumbled at this particular hurdle.)
Speaking to SNL alum Seth Meyers last night, she revealed herself to be a bit of a nerd about the show:
I LOVE all of Kristen Wiig’s sketches. She’s the best… [reels off Kristen Wiig characters] The ‘cowbell’ obviously, like there are so many great favourites. The Californians is one of my favourite sketches.
Ah she’ll smash it. We’re rooting for you, Saoirse!
