SO, IN CASE you haven’t yet heard, Sarah Silverman and Michael Sheen parted ways over the festive season.
We know, sad times.
However, it seems like the former couple, who had been dating for four years, had a very amicable break-up, with Sarah taking to Twitter earlier this week to fill her fans and followers in on developments.
As pragmatic as it gets, Sarah revealed that the decision to split came down to little more than geography, and the decision to divulge was to avoid potentially awkward encounters.
No fight. We just live in different countries & it got hard. Felt we should just tell y’all so u stop askin, “How’s Michael/How’s Sarah?”
So far, so standard.
Enter Kate Beckinsale.
For those of you who don’t know, Kate was once married to Michael Sheen, and upon hearing of Sarah and Michael’s split, she decided to reach out to her ex-husband’s now ex-girlfriend…. with a selection of personalised M&Ms.
As you do.
Sarah shared an image of the M&Ms on Instagram, and yep, they actually feature a loved up pic of Sarah and her former partner.
Interestingly, the sweets were a big hit with Sarah, who revealed that they’ve been getting her through those long and lonely nights without Michael.
Been ending every night with a microwaved bowl of personalized m&ms given to me by the very thoughtful and very cruel katebeckinsale to remind me that I’m alone in this world.
We wonder if Michael got the same treatment…
UPDATE: Sarah Silverman got in touch with DailyEdge to clear up a little confusion surrounding ye olde M&M saga.
It turns out Kate actually gifted Sarah with the sweets while she and Michael were still dating, and not in the aftermath of the break-up.
I was kidding. She gave them to me for Xmas when we were still together. But it would have been hella funny if she gave them to me after.
