THERE IS, PERHAPS, only one thing in the world more mortifying than catching your parents in a compromising situation.
And that is catching your mother in a compromising situation with David Bowie.
That, my friends, is what happened to erstwhile Guns N’ Roses guitarist and notable hat-wearer Slash, who (aged just eight) wandered in on his mum naked in bed with the Thin White Duke.
He told an Australian radio station that with hindsight, he suspects they may have been up to something:
They were always together. I caught them naked once. They had a lot of stuff going on, but my perspective was limited. Looking back on it, I know exactly what was going on.
According to NME Slash’s mum was a costume designer who worked with Bowie, and apparently did some other things with Bowie, in the mid-1970s.
