UNLESS YOU ARE in the very unusual scenario of living in the house you were born in, you have probably endured the horror that is moving house.
It’s an emotional rollercoaster, the highs and lows of which have been known to break even the strongest of people.
Here are the stages of moving house.
1. You think something needs to change
2. Then you have it. A new place! That’s what you want!
3. You start looking, and at first it’s really exciting
4. …but then you realise that everywhere you can afford is a cesspit
5. Eventually, after loads of cesspits and failed bids, you find somewhere!
6. You can’t wait to get in there, suddenly your old home seems like a hovel.
7. Then you start the packing and at first it’s fine, you have a great time looking at things you haven’t seen in years
8. Then suddenly you feel like you’re going to be packing forever
9. And before long, the whole moving thing seems like a really bad idea
10. Eventually moving day arrives, and you decide it's best to have a positive attitude
11. But once you start moving the large pieces of furniture, things take a turn for the worse
12. By the time you start unpacking, you hate everything you own
13. But you are in your nice new place! And eventually, everything is unpacked.
14. All that's left to do is to swear you will never, ever, move again.
