NO. JUST NO. We got our hopes up so high. TayVa was our OTP. But now it’s all over.
It started on Monday when Eva Longoria, who was in Dublin to speak at the Web Summit, posted this photo of herself posing with a pack of Tayto in Centra in Temple Bar.
Tayto sent 120 packs of the savoury delights to her hotel room and she posed beside them, looking only delighted. It was all looking so promising.
Mr Tayto chanced his arm–and who could blame him–by asking her on a date to Taytoland. A nation held its breath, but, she never RSVPed :(
Still, we held out hope.
Now it’s all coming crumbling down around us. Mr Tayto wrote this open letter to the people of Ireland, clarifying the TayVa relationship and letting the actress down gently–in case she was still considering the invitation.

Eva, while she didn’t respond to Tayto’s offer, tweeted the letter with ‘omg funniest thing I’ve read in a long time!’
