This Dublin pub is offering free pints if the marriage referendum is passed

The Back Page in Phibsborough wants to help people celebrate (or commiserate).

WONDERING HOW to celebrate if the marriage referendum passes on Saturday? Look no further.

The Back Page (formerly the Red Windmill) in Phibsborough is so hopeful for a Yes vote that they’re offering free pints for all when the results come in.

And even if it doesn’t, they’ll still stand everyone a round, because they’re sound like that.

Shane Linehan of The Back Page told DailyEdge.ie that they’ve brewed up a new beer for the occasion:

It’s called Same Sex Saison, and it was brewed especially for a Yes vote. We’ve been working on it for around three months, so we’re delighted it’s arrived in time for the referendum.

If you have a sup of Same Sex Saison, you’ll also be doing your bit for charity – one euro from every pint sold goes to the Transgender Equality Network Ireland.

And what do the punters think of the beer? “People love it,” said Shane.
