George Clooney says ‘history is repeating itself’ when it comes to Meghan Markle

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the tide has changed for Meghan Markle since becoming an official member of the British royal family.

Prior to her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan was seen as the breath of fresh air the monarchy so desperately needed, but since becoming the Duchess of Sussex, the narrative has dramatically shifted.

And as far as George Clooney is concerned, it’s not a million miles away from Princes Diana’s story.

Speaking to Who magazine, the actor condemned the press’s treatment of the former Suits actress.

They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere. She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was.

“It’s history repeating itself. And we’ve seen how that ends,” he added.

A heartwrenching letter Meghan wrote to her father regarding his relationship with the media has recently been shared with the press.

I’m seeing a lot of bulls**t today and I saw a lot of s**t last night and I’m sick of this s**t. I work hard for my mother f**king album.

Cardi then deactivated her Instagram account which boasts more than 40 million followers.

Coming out in defence of the 26-year-old, Lady Gaga posted a photo of herself with the Bodak Yellow singer, and wrote: “It is so hard to be a woman in this industry.”

What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art. I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight. Lift her up & honor her. She is brave.

Gaga’s post has been liked almost 100,000 times since its upload earlier today.
