elfing 'round

The Elf Factor, have you got what it takes?

How far would you go to become the go to guy/gal for Father Christmas?

ELF AND SAFETY is important, but friendliness, enthusiasm, and exceptional levels of Christmas spirit are (apparently) the characteristics that are most  required to become one of Santa’s little helpers.

To help fill seasonal jobs, over the weekend Hamleys in Dundrum, Dublin held live auditions, which were split into two stages. In the first, each person was given 60 seconds to show a panel of judges, including Father Christmas himself, that they have that extra spark to join his team. If they were successful in round one, they were invited back for an ‘Elf Off’ where they had to answer some tough elf-like questions (see below).

Ian Harris (18) from Blanchardstown, Dublin was one of the successful 10 who won himself a job as an elf. He told TheJournal.ie he auditioned because he felt that his background in entertainment made him the ideal right-hand man for Mr Claus:

I needed a job for Christmas, so the elf job seemed perfect for me because I’m a natural entertainer. I’m a dancer… I’m also hoping to move away sometime next year to Manchester for more work so this job will also help with that.
