A cat has been hired as a library assistant in Russia

We can’t imagine he’ll be too good at shushing.

GETTING A JOB is tough these days, but not if you’re cute and furry.

A children’s library in the Russian city Novorossiysk, recently hired a new employee. The only issue is, it’s a cat.

The cat, named Kumza, was found on the library steps, and when owners couldn’t find him a home, they gave him a library assistant job instead.

Duties include entertaining children, greeting visitors, wearing a bow-tie, and generally looking cute.

Tough work but somebody’s got to do it.

The pay isn’t too bad either, with Kuzya earning 30 packs of cat food a month for his troubles.

Here’s a video of Kumza hard at work. It’s in Russian, but you get the gist. Hey, a cat just got a job in a library, you can get through this little glitch.
