What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Apprentice (BBC One, 9pm)

We’re getting to the business end of things now as we go into the third last episode of the series. Are any of the candidates any good though? Nobody is standing out as any way competent so far – but that makes for the best drama. Tonight, the candidates will be given the task of creating a new health snack. Sounds handy. #TheApprentice

Peep Show (Channel 4, 10pm)

The second last episode ever of the cult sitcom. Tonight, a track recorded by Jez and Super Hans in the noughties becomes an unexpected hit in Germany – so that’s bound to cause some serious friction. Enjoy it while it lasts. #PeepShow

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Coming Out (UTV Ireland, 8pm)

The aftermath for the celebrities will be quite the culture shock. So Ant and Dec will be on hand tonight to guide us through each of their journeys home and look back on the finest moments from this series. Hopefully Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison makes her way to Geordie Shore for a big night out and to get mortal – but that’s probably asking too much. #ImACeleb

Everyone is talking about… Dirty Dancing getting a TV remake

Yes, the classic ’80s movie is getting a new lease of life on US telly. Abigail Breslin, star of Little Miss Sunshine, will take the lead role of Baby Houseman.

The role of Johnny – originally played by Patrick Swayze – has not been announced yet. But everyone is asking the same question this morning:

We’ll have to see.

Or flick over for…

The Holiday (RTÉ One, 9.35pm) A staple of many a Christmas night in – despite its questionable quality. Still, it hits all the right romcom notes.

Champions League Live (RTÉ 2, 7.30pm) Arsenal look to sneak through the group stages – but they’ll need to win by 2-0 or better in Greece to pull it off.

You Should Really See a Doctor (RTÉ One, 8.30pm) More delving into the medical histories of Irish people by the good doctors.

Escape from Alcatraz (Film4, 11.10pm) Can Clint Eastwood make it off the rock? We know the answer, so we’ll just have to enjoy the ride.
