What to watch on TV tonight: Stephen's Day

Here’s the telly people will be talking about over Christmas dinner.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Commitments (TV3, 9pm)

You won’t be short of big movie premieres across the channels tonight, but sometimes an absolute classic is a better fit for Stephen’s night. Ireland’s best soul band will be strutting their stuff on TV3 tonight, and Alan Parker/Roddy Doyle’s seminal comedy just gets better with age. MUSTANG SALLLLY.

Live Rugbaí Beo: Munster v Leinster (TG4, 5pm)

It wouldn’t be Stephen’s Day without a big Irish rugby derby – and tonight’s clash between Munster and Leinster in Thomond Park has the makings of a top of the table Christmas classic.

Outnumbered: 2016 Christmas Special (BBC One, 10pm)

It’s back! The Brockmans return to the small screen after almost three years away for this festive catch-up. It’s Stephen’s Day and the family have to carry out a special mission for Grandad. However, as usual things don’t go their way as they are beset by car problems, child problems, parent problems, emotional problems and the Second World War.
