A YEAR INTO their relationship, Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthew both took to Instagram to announce their engagement.
The pair went to see a West End production of The Lion King while they were in London and Spencer decided to propose afterwards, to keep things consistent with the Disney theme of their relationship (their first trip abroad together was to Disneyland Paris).
Spencer announced:
I’ve known Vogue for a long time. We’re very happy and in love. She’s my best friend and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. The engagement had to be special, and as our first trip away together was to Disneyland Paris, it felt like the perfect fit.
The Lion King is also one of the greatest stories of all time, so I figured that having just had a romantic evening watching it, she’d probably say yes.
That’s nice, but maybe don’t try use The Lion King to set the mood for a proposal at home, because the pair of them had excellent tickets to the show and had the stage to themselves to facilitate the proposal afterwards.
The ring is worth an estimated €170,000.
Apparently, Spencer Matthews is worth over €3 million, so he’ll hardly notice that gone. Here’s the photo Vogue shared to Instagram.
Spencer used the same photo, but as you’d expect, he wrote “SHE SAID YES…” He later uploaded a video of the ring to his story and said “Vogue loves bridges, so I built her a bridge. And she said ‘yes’. Woohoo!”
Vogue and Spencer first met while they were taking part on Channel 4′s notoriously dangerous show The Jump in 2016 and after Vogue was forced to drop out due to a ruptured knee, they began to date.
After Vogue’s marriage to Brian McFadden, the reality TV star had been fairly opposed to marrying again, but as her relationship with Spencer continued she obviously eased up a little bit on her stance.
