A hobbit house, complete with Bilbo and Frodo as neighbours, has been built in Montana.

IF YOU LIKED the look of The Shire in Lord of the Rings, and would love to live like a hobbit, then this holiday destination could be perfect for you.

Steven Michaels has built a replica hobbit house in Montana in the US, and has opened it to guests. He told The New York Times that it’s not a money-making venture, having only had about 14 visitors since it opened last autumn.

A one night stay will set you back around $245, but for that you get the whole 20 acre site to yourself, complete with Frodo and Bilbo’s cottages, a waterfall and a deck.

Michaels, who is half Irish, has told TheJournal.ie that he’d love to have some Irish people come and visit…
