Ambient noise

Jewel in the Night, an original song by astronaut Chris Hadfield, was recorded on the International Space Station on 23 December. The track includes some ‘ambient noise’ from the ISS – which is much louder than you might expect.

Reach out and touch someone

Japanese digital artist Eric Siu is concerned about the increasing dependence of some teenagers on technology in his country, where “Hikikomori” and “Otaku” subcultures thrive and young people shut themselves away from outside interaction.
