WE LOVE IT when a plan comes together. We love it even more when two plans come together.

In April a group of Limerick citizens began a campaign to change Google’s first search suggestion for the city when you type in “Why is Limerick…”, which was “Why is Limerick so rough”.

They asked people to type “Why is Limerick so awesome” in the search box instead, in the hopes that the Auto-Complete algorithm would change and throw up a positive image of the city first.

And it worked! The first search suggestion for “Why is Limerick…” on Google is now “Why is Limerick so awesome”.

But…what’s that? Why is Limerick so full of…huh?

The fourth search suggestion is the work of some cheeky DailyEdge.ie commenters, who thought they’d have a bit of craic with the algorithm.

Well guys, that worked too. “Why is Limerick so full of werewolves?” is the fourth Google search suggestion for “Why is Limerick…”.
