The internet is appalled by this recipe for 'wine cheese shots'

…why?

WINE AND CHEESE.

It’s one of the great romances of our time. A classic pairing that can’t be topped. The food-and-drink equivalent of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, if you will.

With that in mind, the Facebook page PopSugar Food decided to post a video recipe for something called ‘wine and cheese shots’.

It’s essentially wine served in a shot glass made from microwaved cheddar.

Because who among us doesn’t love rubbery-looking cheese?

It’s an intriguing twist on an old classic, but we also have a few questions:

  • Who thought it would be a neat idea to serve wine from a shot glass crafted from cheap red cheddar?
  • Seriously, could you not go even a little fancier?
  • What does wine-soaked cheddar taste like?
  • What does cheese-infused wine taste like?
  • Why???

The video has racked up over 3 million views on Facebook, but commenters are united in their disgust.

In conclusion? Just drink your wine out of a glass (or mug) like a normal person.

And if you do make wine and cheese shots, just know that you will be judged for it. Possibly by a higher power.
