Madonna’s speech at the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday is causing all sorts of controversy. Wouldn’t be like her now, would it?
First, there was the simple matter of her dropping several f-bombs on live TV, which CNN later had to apologise for (“It’s Madonna”, they said, as in “What the hell did you expect”.)
Then, she had to defend this line, which was taken “out of context” and misconstrued as a call to violence against Trump:
Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know this won’t change anything. We cannot fall into despair.
In an Instagram post, Madge explained that the “blowing up the White House” comment was a metaphor, she’s not a violent person, and she knows “acting out of anger” doesn’t solve anything. Phew. (Rolling Stone)
Geri Halliwell has paid tribute to her late friend George Michael by naming her newborn son after him. Aw.
The Spice Girl announced the birth on Instagram yesterday, sharing the baby’s full name: Montague George Hector Horner, or ‘Monty’ for short.
A source told The Mirror that Geri had hoped that the singer, who tragically passed away on Christmas Day, would be a part of her son’s life in some way:
Geri wanted George to be a part of Monty’s life, so she felt it was only fitting that her newborn have a middle name after the star.
Conor McGregor and his missus Dee Devlin celebrated his coach John Kavanagh’s birthday in Dublin at the weekend.
The pair attended the swanky party at House on Leeson Street on Saturday night, with Dee now sporting a sizeable baby bump.
The couple’s first child is due in May, and McGregor says becoming a father has him ‘crapping his jocks’.
