Here's how that awkward IFTA selfie turned out

It didn’t exactly go to plan.

EVERYBODY WAS TALKING about last night’s IFTAs for all the wrong reasons and a failed attempt to recreate Ellen’s Oscar Selfie didn’t exactly help.

Hosts Simon Delaney and Laura Whitmore gathered a group of audience members together for the snap, much to the horror of the Twitter community.

But that didn’t mean they were ready for it.

Expectations for IFTA Selfie success weren’t high.

Which is probably a good thing considering the selfie never actually materialised on Twitter.

The only thing they managed to capture amid all the excitement was a picture of a large portion of Delaney’s forehead.
