Dublin: 6 °C Friday 24 January, 2020

There were absolute scenes in chippers around Ireland last night

Ah, National Fish and Chips Day.

And to celebrate National Fish and Chips Day in Ireland, select places were of course offering the standard half price meals.

Queues were out the door

Which was the price everyone was willing to pay

It was delirium

It looked like “a feckin fish & chip party” to some onlookers

That’s exactly what it was.

If you didn’t know there was a holiday on, you were in for a shock

People had to think on their feet

One chipper in Dublin did a sound thing for the hungry people in the queue

And all the chaos was worth it in the end

The one day a year where you can get your hands on fish and chips for less than a fiver

*to the tune of Rihann’s work*
