MODEL AND ACTRESS Brook Shields made an appearance on the U.S. talk-show What What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Andy Cohen decided to play a game, where he showed Shields photographs of herself with celebrities over the years, except the faces of the celebs were obscured so she had to guess who she was with in each picture.
Shields got most of them correct straight away, but she hesitated on the final one. Andy revealed to her that it was in fact Donald Trump and she looked slightly disgusted, but remembered their encounter.
Brooke Shields explained that the event photographed here was some kind of charity dinner and Cohen jokingly asked if he hit on her. Brooke said “No. But he did ask me out later.”
It looked as if they were all prepared to swiftly move the conversation in another direction, but Andy asked Brooke how the date went.
We didn’t go out. He called me. I was on location during a movie and he called me right after he had gotten a divorce and said ‘I really think we should date. Because you’re America’s sweetheart and I’m America’s richest man. The people would love it!’
Trump’s divorce to Marla Maples was finalised in 1992, so at the time Shields would have been 27-years-old while Trump was 46-years-old.
Who, other than Donald Trump, would ever suggest getting in a relationship with someone because ‘The people would love it!’? Hint: probably nobody.
Brooke Shields responded to Trump’s offer with:
I have a boyfriend… I really don’t think… He’s not going to be happy about that.
If this occurred in 2017, we’d probably be witnessing a series of tweets from the president saying something like “Sad! Brooke Shields is a real loser!”
