Watch Casper the cat get rescued from the Liffey by the Dublin Fire Brigade

They went out on a little boat to get him.

THE RIVER LIFFEY in Dublin was the centre of a daring – and adorable – rescue mission yesterday afternoon.

Casper the cat had fallen over the wall and was just about clinging on to a rock.

So the DSPCA and the Dublin Fire Brigade motored out on a little boat to rescue him

The Dublin SPCA posted the video of the scene to Facebook this morning, saying:

Fantastic moments yesterday when Casper the cat was rescued from the river Liffey by the DSPCA and the “always amazing Dublin fire brigade”.

There was a crowd watching on as they made their way to Casper – who you could hear meowing from his perch

Even better, the DSPCA said that Casper was returned to his owner immediately:

Thankfully Casper was microchipped so we were able to reunite him with his owner

A happy ending for Casper after his adventure in the Liffey.
